Wildwood Trio Accused Of Selling Cocaine Near Sports Complex

Three people from Cape May County were accused of selling cocaine and having pills, authorities said.

Wildwood police arrested three city residents: 49-year-old Karl Abbatiello, 45-year-old Jill Caissie, and 34-year-old Robert Peterson, the department said in a Facebook post. The county's SWAT team executed a search warrant at a home on Garfield Avenue on Friday, Apr. 12.

Investigators found "distribution amounts of suspected cocaine" in the home, as well as several pills believed to be a mix of acetaminophen and codeine. They also seized a digital scale, plastic baggies commonly used for dealing drugs, and $797 in cash from suspected drug sales.

The home is also within 500 feet of Maxwell Field, which is a sports complex on West Youngs Avenue. A boy was found in the home, brought to police headquarters, and released to a guardian.

The three people arrested were charged with second-degree possession of cocaine with intent to distribute in a public place, third-degree possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of cocaine, third-degree financial facilitation of criminal activity, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree possession of prescription legend drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Abbatiello, Caissie, and Peterson were held at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
